N-Power: When Stipend Payment Will Commence?
Monthly payments (30,000 stipends) so far are made every month to about 500,000 N-Power volunteers across the country.
We had earlier reported that the beneficiary is concerned about the “habitual delay of his monthly stipend” by the N-Power scheme.
N-Power June/July Stipend: Beneficiaries’ 23 Billion Naira Withheld By Buhari’s Minister
502,580 bonafide enrolees of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s N-Power programme are yet to get paid their June/July stipends.
At the present time, one day into the new month of August, beneficiaries are still waiting to be paid for June and July.
Today July month going to end, yet, beneficiaries have not been settled their June stipend as well as July stipend.
This has caused many of them to come on social media (Twitter most especially) to demand their payment.

However, this newspaper also understands from sources at the ministry that the affected batch A and B beneficiaries , who had exited the scheme on June 30 and July 31 respectively, would be paid their outstanding five and four months’ stipends, if found clean through the verification process.
N-Power explains why some beneficiaries are yet to receive payment
According to the minister, the 14,200 beneficiaries were flagged by the OAGF for receiving monthly payments from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Farouq explained that it is possible that the affected beneficiaries used their NYSC allowance bank accounts for N-Power thereby making the payment platform to pick them for double payment.

UGC She said verification process is already ongoing at the state levels where the affected beneficiaries will present their NYSC certificates to confirm they were not getting double payments. The minister gave an assurance that all legitimate claims and those on the verified list will be paid before the end of 2020.
The 14, 200 beneficiaries with outstanding arrears are from the 500,000 combined beneficiaries from Batches A and B that have already been exited.
Meanwhile, the minister said arrangements are being concluded to start the Batch C programme where other young Nigerians will participate.

Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, recently said the exited and eligible N-power beneficiaries will be absorbed into government programmes and by private organisations for a permanent job.
On N-power Permanency, she said “We have directed Focal Persons of National Social Investment Programmes in the states to submit an updated list of the exited N-Power beneficiaries that are interested in participating in the transition plans of the ministry.
“The only outstanding approval waiting to be forwarded to AGF’s Office is for the payment of July Stipends for batch B beneficiaries,” she said.
All the npower beneficiaries will move towards a good work environment for permanent job placement. This means that npower will give the beneficiaries a permanent job in government, or support to create their own permanent business.

This week, the N-Power portal will re-open for registration. 400,000 beneficiaries will be taken from the application pool.

Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq has provided an update on the commencement of the scheme Npower Batch C.
“He gave an update in a series of tweets from his Twitter account on Tuesday, October 27 in which he also described the benefits of the scheme.
“The Minister explained that more than 100,000 from the initial 500,000 beneficiaries who have been out the scheme has been a business owner and employer of labor.
In her view, the scheme Npower has contributed heavily to the socio-economic development of Nigeria as a whole and the government eager and focus on enabling Batch C set so that other young people can also benefit from the scheme.
“He wrote: “I am proud to tell Nigeria that 109,000 of the 500,000 beneficiaries have gone on to become a business owner and some are employers of labor.
We have concluded arrangements to start Batch C program in which another Nigerian youth will participate.
“We will continue to work towards a better future for our young people.
“Let me add that the N-Power has contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of the country. We salute the past beneficiaries for their service to the nation.
“It is gratifying to note that the N-Power achieved one core goal of making the beneficiaries self.

N-Power Batch C News Update: Federal Government hints on those to be enrolled
More than 4.48 million Nigerians have so far applied on the online portal for N-Power’s third batch of recruits.
The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, provided the update via his Twitter page on Sunday evening.
Only 400,000 applicants will be absorbed into the third batch of the N-Power National Social Investment Scheme (NSIP) at the end of the recruitment exercise.
Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, on Friday gave an update on the N-Power programme as Batch C will commence soon.
She spoke at an event in commemoration of the ministry’s first year anniversary in Abuja.
Farouq announced that as at the last count, 109, 823 beneficiaries from Batch A and B have set up businesses in their communities.
“We have successfully exited the 500,000 Batch A and B beneficiaries and closed registration for Batch C with a total of 5,042,001 registrations received.”
The minister assured that applicants to be selected would be just the qualified ones.
“As we move to the selection stage, the Ministry will ensure due diligence will be applied to ensure that only duly qualified applicants are enrolled,” Farouq said.
